Terms of Service & End User License Agreement

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service, which also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the BelongTo Communities mobile app, are a binding agreement between you and 4Brunch LLC, the operator of BelongTo Communities ("BelongTo", "we", "us", "our"). They cover the iOS app, the web app at communities.belongto.ai, and everything in them — collectively, the "Service".

By creating an account, joining or founding a community, or tapping Agree and continue on the agreements screen, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use this

You must be 13 years of age or older to use BelongTo Communities. The Service is not directed at children under 13, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we delete accounts we learn belong to someone under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

You also promise you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your country, and that you will not use it on behalf of anyone who is.

3. Your account

• You sign in with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself and for everything that happens under your account.
• One human, one account. Do not create accounts for bots, do not sell or transfer your account, and do not impersonate someone else.
• Your display name and avatar are visible to every member of every community you are in. Pick something you are comfortable with people seeing.
• Communities are invite-only. An invite code is a key — sharing it hands someone access to a private room. Share it deliberately.

4. Your license to the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the BelongTo Communities app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and (on iOS) the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, rent, resell, or create derivative works from the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

You also agree not to: probe or interfere with the Service's security; scrape, crawl, or bulk-export other members' content; use the Service to send spam or promotions; upload malware; or attempt to access communities you were not invited to.

5. Community guidelines (the house rules)

These are the rules every member agrees to at the door. They are short on purpose.

Beyond the house rules, the following content is prohibited anywhere on the Service — in community chat, in direct messages, in photos, in display names, in community names, and in anything you send to the AI assistant:

• Sexual content involving minors, or any sexualization of a minor. This is reported to the authorities, not just removed.
• Pornography and sexually explicit material.
• Threats of violence, incitement to violence, or glorification of violence.
• Harassment, stalking, bullying, or targeted abuse of an individual.
• Hate speech or slurs directed at people for race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability, or serious disease.
• Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
• Doxxing — publishing someone's private information without their consent.
• Illegal goods and services, fraud, phishing, or financial scams.
• Content you do not have the rights to post.
• Impersonation of another person or organization.

6. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

We enforce this with four things working together, all built into the app:

1. An automatic content filter. Every message posted to a community is scanned when it is written. Photos are additionally screened by an image-safety check before anyone sees them. Content the filter catches is hidden behind a warning that a member must deliberately tap through, and it is surfaced for review.
2. Reporting. Any member can report any message or any member — including the AI assistant's own messages — from the actions menu on the message or from the member's profile card. Reports reach us immediately.
3. Blocking. Any member can block any other member instantly and without telling them. A blocked member's messages disappear from your chat, your threads, and your direct messages, and they cannot start a direct message with you.
4. Founder powers. The founder of a community can delete any message in it and remove any member from it. Removal is immediate: an ejected member loses access to that community the moment it happens.

7. How to report something, and what happens next

• In the app: long-press or open the actions on a message and choose Report; or open a member's profile card and choose Report member. Tell us what is wrong in your own words.
• By email: support@belongto.ai. Include the community name and roughly when it happened.

We review every report within 24 hours of receiving it and take action — removing the content, ejecting the member, disabling the account, or, if the report does not describe a violation, closing it. Reports are confidential: we do not tell the person you reported who reported them. Filing reports you know to be false is itself a violation of these terms.

8. The AI assistant (Google Gemini)

BelongTo Communities includes an AI assistant. It is on by default in every community, its default name is Nest, and a founder can rename it for their own community. It powers four features: answering when it is mentioned in chat, searching a community's history, writing "Memories" recaps, and describing photos so they can be searched and read by screen readers.

To do those things, we send content from your communities to the Google Gemini API, operated by Google LLC. That includes the text of messages posted in a community and photos uploaded to it, along with the display names attached to them.

Using the app requires agreeing to this. The assistant is not an add-on that can be switched off — it reads the room in order to be useful — so there is no version of the Service that works without sending content to Google. If you are not comfortable with that, do not use the Service. Full detail on what is sent, what Google does with it, and how long it is kept is in the Privacy Policy.

The assistant is software, and it is sometimes wrong. Do not treat what it says as legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. When it proposes a vote, a human member has to confirm it before anything happens.

9. Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you post — your messages, your photos, your community names, your votes. You are responsible for it, and you promise you have the right to post it.

So that we can actually run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and adapt your content — strictly for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving BelongTo Communities and delivering the features described in these terms (including sending it to the AI provider named above and to the infrastructure providers named in the Privacy Policy). We do not sell your content, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not license it to anyone for their own purposes. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

Content you post to a community is visible to that community's members. Members can screenshot and repeat things. The house rules say what gets said in a room stays in it, but treat every room as a room with people in it.

10. Our content

The app, its design, its code, the BelongTo name and wordmark, and everything else we made belong to us and our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to use our trademarks. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@belongto.ai with the work, the location of the material, and your contact details, and we will act on it.

11. If you found a community

Anyone with an account can found a community, and doing so makes you its founder (C0). With that come responsibilities:

• You choose who to invite, and you can remove any member at any time.
• You can delete any message in your community.
• You are expected to enforce the house rules in your room. A community whose founder ignores reports can be shut down.
• A founder cannot leave their own community while it exists — you can delete your account, which hands the room to its remaining members or removes it entirely if you are the only one in it.

12. Ending it

You can leave whenever you want. Leave an individual community from your profile sheet, or delete your account entirely: Your profile → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your messages, your photos, your votes, and your direct messages. It cannot be undone. Your member number retires with you — it is never reissued to someone else. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

We can end it too. We may suspend or terminate your access — immediately and without notice — if you violate these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use of the Service puts other members or the Service itself at risk. Sections 9 (the license you granted, for content we have not yet deleted), 10, 13, 14, 16 and 18 survive termination.

13. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that messages will always be delivered, that the AI assistant will be accurate, or that content that violates these terms will always be caught before you see it. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this may not apply to you.

14. Limits of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service — even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.

We are not responsible for what other members post or do. BelongTo is a place where people talk to each other; the people are not our employees, and their content is not our speech.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims brought by a third party arising out of content you posted or your violation of these terms.

15. Apple-specific terms

These terms apply to the iOS version of BelongTo Communities in addition to Apple's own Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and where they conflict on a point Apple's standard EULA reserves, Apple's applies. You acknowledge that:

• This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple, and we — not Apple — are solely responsible for the app and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Support requests go to support@belongto.ai.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights, and for any product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer-protection law.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located there. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection law in the country where you live. Before filing anything, email support@belongto.ai — most of this gets solved in one message.

17. Changes to these terms

We will update these terms as the app changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new terms. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
